How to increase productivity

Productivity and efficiency go hand in hand, and there is something in a productive day that gives you a sense of peace and satisfaction. It is like you unleash your finest version of yourself in the greatest possible way, or at least that is how I feel it. You are mistaken, if you think I am one of the most productive people you have ever met, in fact, there were some days in my life when I just let the days pass by without doing anything, and there were some days when the day entirely went by plan.

These days, everyone's life has become busier and busier, filled with so much obligation, sometimes we forget how it looks like that a day goes as we want it to go. Being productive and efficient is becoming hard, and some of us even beat ourselves up and think we are not able to do what we have in mind for ourselves. Probably you are like me and trying to read, navigate, and gain knowledge around this matter, so can have a more upscale day where you take care of your body, mind, plans, and goals that help you to reach your desired outcomes.

Productivity is all about delegation and time management, and people who have goals and desires need to use their days fully. I am not trying to say that you have to use every minute of the day to do something that helps you to be productive. What I am trying to say here, is that some steps help you to create more efficiency in your daily life. To me, being productive is not about doing as much as you can, it is about finishing all you can and you should.

Many books have been written about productivity, some offer you a plan for every minute of your life, such as thirty 30-minute workouts, 2o minutes of reading, etc. These are all good, but one thing many of them forget reminds us that our life is not always the same therefore the same plan is not going to serve us most efficiently. If you are single, and employed, which I was at some point in my life, you can plan every second and minute of your day as you please, and surprisingly, you do not even have issues fulfilling them. You read, go to bed on time, you have time for socializing, and your exercise lists go on, but when my circumstances changed, my daily lists changed too. There were times in my life when I had to take care of my two kids by myself, so at those moments, for me, efficiency was going to work, keeping the home neat and clean, and taking care of my kid's needs, and more importantly have fun with them, and now I am not changing those awesome moments with my kids with anything else. There were days that I could not plan for my next hour or my next day. I am not saying use your circumstances as your excuse, what I am trying to say is that productivity cannot be a formula for all of your life's stages, and it can differ from one stage to another stage. Your goal should be to use a different plan that works for that stage. If you have a toddler and cannot read books as much as you would like to, it is okay and you should not beat yourself up over that or spend a fortune on classes, and books to change how to run your days better. Efficiency.

What I learned during the different stages of my life is that you need to have a plan for your days, even if you want to take off of two things or 10 things, having plans is always helpful. Planning ahead can prevent you from going from one task to another task aimlessly or will help you to finish what you had in mind, saving you a lot of time. Planning ahead helps you to think and act with clarity. Organized space helps you to have an organized mind. I never understood that, when my mind is busy, my living space becomes busy or when my living space is unorganized my mind becomes unorganized, but one thing, I am pretty sure that your state of mind has a direct impact on your environment and they are directly linked together.
Dedicating time, just for yourself, and nobody else, helps you to get on with your daily tasks. That can be yoga, exercise, end of the day bath, meditation, listening to music, or praying. These will help you to recentre your thoughts, recharge, and think better. Most of the time I had a long commute to work, so that time I was thinking, and listening to music while I was drinking my coffee.
Also, finding time to read, or journal helps you to feel more productive, either you can read 5 pages or 20 pages, or just one article in a magazine.

Always write your 5-day, 5-month, and 5-year goals. Goals keep you motivated, enthusiastic, and healthy. Goals help you stay on track, prevent depression, and guide you through the decision-making processes. Life can be so challenging sometimes that you are not even able to think right, and having goals helps you through those times.

Furthermore, just try to use your day fully, and that is enough to make you feel healthy and productive, don't beat yourself up, if one day is not as productive as other days, and remember to have fun while trying to climb the ladder of success in your life.
